Shot List

Shot List:

shot list is a document that lists and describes the shots to be filmed during a motion picture, it stated every single shot that is planned to appear in the music video in chronological order.
I've created a shot list because it will allow me to stay organised and on schedule while filming, by creating this shot list I now have a sort of checklist to follow when filming all the different scenes, it will ensure me that I don't forget to film any scenes and that i can easily tick off shots when I have completed them.
The shot list also allowed me to work quicker as I have already figured out what I need to film, what camera angle I will be using etc.  Not only that it will also help me when editing, as I will have a variety of different shots all mixed up when I import the videos on to my computer, but by using the shot list I can then figure our the order in which the shots appear.
If I didn't create the shot list, it may result in my video looking chaotic and not having a very good flow, this would mean that the quality of my video is reduced and it is likely not to attract any viewers to watch the video.
The shot list includes a number of different columns and a variety of different pieces of information:
  • At the top of the Shot list it contains different pieces of information about the production such the company mane and production title.
  • The shot list also includes the shot number and scene number, this tells you what shot it is and where it is located in the sequences of shots, the scene tells you what scene the shot will feature in.
  • It says type of shot, this tells you what camera angle/movement will be used int he scene e.g. High angle shot, pan etc.
  • There is then a small description describing the shot in little detail.
